Goldilocks and the Three Bears Summary
Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, there lived a beautiful girl named Goldilocks with her family on the edge of the forest. Goldilocks was known for the colour of her hair, which was the reason for her name, the golden-haired girl.
Her mother had always warned her against entering the forest, but one morning Goldilocks saw a beautiful bird flying in the sky. The bird entered the forest, and the girl decided to follow it.
Lost in the Forest
As the girl ventured deeper into the forest, she realised she had lost her way home. While Goldilocks was searching for the right path, she saw a large house in front of her, so she decided to ask the inhabitants of the house how to get out of the forest.
The house belonged to three bears: a father bear, a mother bear, and a baby bear. Goldilocks knocked on the door the first time, but no one answered. The second time, no one answered. The third time, she discovered that the door was open, so she decided to go in and explore the house.
The Three Bowls of Soup
When she entered the dining room, she smelled delicious soup. As she followed the smell, she found three bowls: one large, one medium, and one small bowl for the little bear.
Goldilocks thought the owners of the house would not mind if she tasted the soup. She tasted the large bowl but found it too hot. She then tried the medium bowl and found it too cold. When she reached the small bowl, it was just right, and she ate it all.
The Broken Chair
Goldilocks continued her tour of the Three Bears’ house and found three chairs: a large chair, a medium chair, and a small chair.
Goldilocks thought no one would mind if she sat on one of the chairs. When she sat on the big chair, she found it very hard. She then tried the medium chair, but it was too soft. When she sat on the small chair, it felt perfect, but it could not bear her weight and broke into pieces.
The Three Beds
Goldilocks felt sleepy, so she went upstairs and found three beds: a large bed, a medium bed, and a small bed.
She lay on the large bed but found it uncomfortable and hard. She then tried the medium bed, but it was too soft. When she tried the small bed, it was just right, and Goldilocks quickly fell into a deep sleep.
The Bears Return Home
The three bears had gone out for a short walk while the soup cooled. When they returned, Mother Bear noticed that the door was closed but not tightly.
When the bears entered the dining room, Father Bear said, “Someone has tasted my soup!”
Mother Bear said, “Someone has tasted my soup too!”
Little Bear said, “Someone has eaten all my soup!”
They continued exploring their home. When they reached the chairs, Father Bear said, “Someone has sat on my chair!”
Mother Bear said, “Someone has sat on my chair!”
Little Bear said, “Someone has sat on my chair and broken it!”
Goldilocks Wakes Up
The three bears went upstairs, and Father Bear said, “Someone has slept in my bed!”
Mother Bear said, “Someone has slept in my bed too!”
Little Bear said, “Someone has slept in my bed, and she is still here!”
Goldilocks felt that someone was watching her, so she woke up in fright and ran towards the door. Little Bear followed her, told her that what she had done was wrong, and then invited her to meet his family.
Saying Sorry and Going Home
Goldilocks apologised to the three bears for entering their house and using their things without permission. The bears accepted her apology and allowed her to stay for a short while.
After some time, Goldilocks missed her family. The three bears understood and showed her the way home.
They asked Goldilocks to visit them again, but this time with permission. The golden-haired girl promised she would, then said goodbye and went home safely.
